Video Description:
So there is a game that I am working on with the name Project Jude ( still yet a new one toy be chosen). I started working on it 10 months ago, however the scope was too big and it was unrealistic for a solo game developer to make it. Therefore since 3 weeks ago I decided to rework the game and make it more realistic, in terms of me being able to make it by myself. Over those two weeks a lot of progress has been made. one major difference is the game will no longer be in 3rd person. It is now changing to 1st person. this is a hard choice too make, because I really liked the 3rd person aesthetic but, I realised that by changing it too first person I am cutting on a lot of time. Firstly full body animations will not need to be done, the model wont either among other things.
In this particular video I began by making some minor changes the current weapons and abilities. I'm planning on adding more and more tweaks and changes in the next devlog. I then started to work on some modelling in blender. I went and started creating some props/buildings to create some awesome scenery inside of unity. I decided to create individual pieces like walls, stairs, ceilings etc. instead of full buildings. This is so that I can dynamically build and change the buildings within unity. I'm constantly working on creating more models. I created a small little are which will most likely change but either way it was a great way to see what direction I want to go in in terms of the building style.
I then started to work on some UI and the actual functionality of weapon upgrades. To be completely frank I did not actually implement the upgrades themselves but rather created a system for them. This means the entire UI system that would appear when you press ESC and much more!
